Doodles & Log Cabins

Instead of sewing sunflowers, I have been planting real ones lately! Back in March, I doodled a quilting design for my sunflower quilt and was deciding on thread when the sun decided to brighten my craftroom. I'm eager to get started on the quilting but want to try some variegated thread in the border...

Here's a few pictures of Claire sewing her first log cabin block. It's the first time she has used the "big" machine all by herself. This is also the first quilt we are making together. We were both proud! When I was seven, I remember playing under the quilt frame as my mom was hand-quilting.

Recently, I was featured on Tickled by Inspiration. Be sure to hop on over. Thank you Rachel!

Enjoy your afternoon tea & quilted crafts :o)

And I can't wait to see the sunflower panel complete.

Also I have some beautiful memory of my mom sewing while I was there, and when she teached me to sew. Hope I will have a daughter to teach to. Lucky you!
